This project proposes to reuse and reduce unsustainable consumption in the textile industry through three new spaces where to collect, transform and acquire exclusive clothes.

The clothes donated in Zara Second Life will give a second life through a process of ideation and creation by a team of young designers who will collaborate with well-known professionals in the sector. From this, unique pieces will be obtained that will go out for sale at an auction as capsule collection within the Zara chain. Said benefit will be used in social actions.

After analyzing customer behavior, the idea arises of wanting to show the environmental and psychological impact that involves certain actions such as rational, unsustainable and compulsive consumption know as “shopping spree”. How to show and make people aware of the clothes they throw (which have been a highly expensive and polluting manufacturing process), you can re-create another clothing completely different from what it was originally, being exclusive and unrepeatable, with a reduced environmental impact on its manufacturing process.

Este proyecto propone reutilizar y reducir el consumo insostenible de la industria textil a través de tres nuevos espacios donde recoger, transformar y adquirir prendas exclusivas.

Las prendas donadas en el Second Life de Zara tendrán una segunda vida a través de un proceso de ideación y creación por parte de un equipo de jóvenes diseñadores que colaborarán con conocidos profesionales del sector. De ello finalmente se obtendrán piezas únicas que saldrán a la venta en una subasta como colecciones cápsula dentro de la cadena Zara. Y dicho beneficio será empleado en acciones sociales.

Tras el análisis del comportamiento de los clientes, surge la idea de querer enseñar el impacto medioambiental y psicológico que conllevan acciones como el consumo racional, insostenible y compulsivo, conocido como “shopping spree” (frenesí por la compra). Como mostrar y concienciar a la gente que de las prendas de ropa que tiran (las cuales han llevado un proceso de fabricación altamente costoso y contaminante), se puede volver a crear otra prenda completamente diferente a lo que era en su origen, siendo exclusivo e irrepetible, con un reducido impacto medioambiental en su proceso de fabricación.
